William E. "Bill" Fenton, 80, of Osage, Iowa, died on Saturday morning, August 4, 2007 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, following a brief illness.

Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Osage. Inurnment will be held in Rudd Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd, Iowa. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

William Edward Fenton was born April 15, 1927 in Griswold, Iowa the son of William and Veryl (Read) Fenton. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He married E. Marie Flowers on October 26, 1947 in Osage. She died on October 31, 1999. Bill worked as an engineer for the Oliver-White Corporation until his retirement.

In his younger years, he was well known as "Wild Bill" and later in life known as "The Old Cowboy".

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Marie Fenton; by a brother in infancy, Ivan Fenton; by sisters, Arlene (Peggy) Craig and AnnaMae Cassidy; and by step-brothers, Vern Ellis and Floyd Ellis.

Survivors include his sons, Rick of Sac City, Iowa and Jerry of Tallahassee, Florida; a brother, Bob Fenton of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Ray Cassidy and a half-sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Willie Baker, both of Red Oak, Iowa; step-sisters, Lola Butler of Lennox, Iowa and Ruth Jackson of California; a special friend, Glenda Peaster of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and a close friend, Craig Roalfs of Osage.
