Dr. Offerman Dies; Cancer Held Cause. Interested in Several Lines of Business; Lived Here 16 Years. Dr. Francis X. Offerman, 71, well known Great Falls chiropractor and business man, died Saturday morning at Rochester, Minn. according to information received by friends from Mrs. Offerman, the widow.
Dr. Offerman had resided in Great Falls for about 16 years. Dr. Offerman had been in ill health for some time, and he entered the Mayo brothers clinic at Rochester about a week ago for treatment for an intestinal cancer, it was stated.
Although Dr. Offerman's condition was known to be serious, his death was not generally expected. Dr. Offerman came to Great Falls in 1918 and he was soon established as one of the best known chiropractors.
Dr. Offerman was reputed to have property interests of value, and he purchased the Yellow Cab and Baggage company some years ago. He recently sold the taxi business, but at that time he announced that he had retained the transfer and bus sections of the company.
Dr. Offerman is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. William Mahon of Great Falls and Vera Jackson of Great Falls. The body will be brought to Great Falls today, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
