Mrs. Kathrina Olsen was born in Norway, October 9, 1816, and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Nels. O. Nelson in Floyd county December 11,1898, aged 82 years.
Mrs. Olsen emigrated to America in 1850, locating with her family in Wisconsin, afterwards coming to Iowa in 1874. She was the mother of five children, four of whom live to mourn her loss; Mrs. Nels O. Nelson, of Floyd county, Mrs. Ole Torblaa and L. I. Olsen of Osage, and Mrs Anderson, of Watts county, North Dakota. She was a consistent christian woman and had been a member of the Norwegian Luthern church for a long period of years. The funeral was held today, conducted by Rev. Melby of Osage, interment occuring in Rock Creek Cemetery.
