HARRIS, SMITH, TOPPIN

A funeral for Jon M. Harris, 37, of Osage, Iowa, was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage, with Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Jon died Friday, May 11, 2007 at his home in Osage, due to medical complications.

Jon was born February 10, 1970, in Osage the son of Ward and Carmen (Smith) Harris. Jon attended school in Osage and graduated from Osage High School in 1988. In October 1991, Jon graduated from the National Institute of Technology in Des Moines, with an AA Degree in Electronic Engineering and Industrial and Computer Electronics, he has worked in this field ever since.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osage and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Osage. Some of Jon's hobbies included collecting antiques, fixing and building computers, and spending time outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen Harris in 2002 and his grandparents.

Jon is survived by his longtime companion, Hollie Toppin and their daughter Karmen, and Tommy and Amanda Low all of Osage; his father, Ward Harris of Osage; his siblings, Kim (Jim) Larson of Osage, Jim (Deborah) Harris of Loxahatchee, Florida, Lynne (Brian) Wright of Osage; his nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Todd Larson; Letisha (Ben) Laufersweiler, Joshua and Jamie Harris; Shannon (John) Beyer, Dwayne (Betsy) Wright, Tyler, Amanda, and Robbie Wright.

Arrangements were made by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa.
