Thomas Edwin WilsonThomas Edwin Wilson was born near Cresco Iowa, April 11, 1867 and ended his earthly pilgrimage April 1, 1941, near Osage, Iowa.
He was the son of Henry Wilson and Isabelle McCulla Wilson, who under their masterly guidance he learned the lessons in honest industry and parental loyalty.
He was united in marriage to Nellie Dodge, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, June 13, 1895, and moved to a farm about seven miles northeast of St. Ansgar.
To this union two children were born-Mabel, now Mrs. John Schack, of Mason City and Clifton, at home.Tom lived in Mitchell county more than sixty years where he was an outstanding farmer, truly personifying in his life honest toil and thrift.
He was a good neighbor and a friend to those in need. The esteem in which he was held was portrayed in the resplendent floral offerings, and the large crowd which gathered at the Champion funeral home in Osage Friday afternoon to pay their last respects.
To mourn his going besides those mentioned he leaves three brothers-Charles, Cresco, Iowa, John and James of Austin, Minn.-four sisters-Mrs. Lizzie McCarville, and Mrs. Susan Ernst of Cresco;Mrs Hattie Huckins, Spring Valley, Minn. and Mrs. Ina Huckins, of Cresco. Two sisters, Mary and Mrs. Sarah Srugrue, and three brothers, William, Henry and Hugh preceded him in death.
The funeral services were in charge of H. F. Risse and burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
