Funeral services for a life long Lyle resident, Mrs. Esther S. Jorgenson, 76, who died January 9 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held January 12 at Clasen Jordon Chapel in Austin, Minn. with the Rev. Marshall Averbeck, pastor of Bethel Alliance church, officiating.
Esther Sadella Nelson, the daughter of Mads and Jennie (Erickson) Nelson, was born in Mona March 27, 1902 and was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran church and attended the Mona grade school.
She is survived by four children: Mrs. Pete (Donna) Peterson of Austin; Mrs. Lavern (June) Leidall of Lyle; Mrs. Dwight (Alta) Jennings of Minneapolis; and son, Mark Jorgenson of Mound, Minn.; one sister, Myrtle Nelson of Rochester, Minn.; one brother, Kenneth Nelson of Elkton, Minn.; 18 grand-children; 14 great grand-children; nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, David and Clair; one daughter, Rebecca; two sisters, Mrs. Fritz (Mayme) Ogden of Osage and Mrs. Thorvald (Alvira) Hansen, St. Ansgar.
Burial was in Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery, Lyle, with Rev. Averbeck in charge of committal services.
