AUSTIN, MINNESOTA -- Orlando E. Grove, 82, of 2308 12th Ave. S.W., died Wednesday (Dec. 29, 1993) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home here.
Born Sept. 18, 1911, in St. Ansgar, Iowa, he grew up in the Mona, Iowa, area. He graduated from Lyle High School in 1930.
He married Iona Everson on Oct. 12, 1933, at Mona Lutheran Church where he was a member. They farmed in the Mona area until 1941, when they moved to Rochester. Mr. Grove worked in a Rochester dry-cleaning business until 1959.
The couple then resumed farming in the Preston area. Mr. Grove retired in 1972 and they moved to Chatfield. The couple moved to Austin in 1982.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Harry) Anderson of Chatfield; two sons, Elverne of Austin and Keith of St. Paul; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Wall of Atlanta.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in Clasen-Jordan Chapel here, with the Rev. Myrwood Bagne officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and one hour before the service Friday.
