AUSTIN, MINNESOTA -- The funeral for Doyle Wilder, 69, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, was held today in Faith Lutheran Church in London, Minn., with Reverend Einer Unseth officiating. Burial was in the Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle.

Mr. Wilder died Friday in the Riverside Chautauqua, in Charles City, Iowa.

He was born October 10, 1930, in Osage, Iowa, and attended school in Otranto, Iowa. He worked in the area as a carpenter. He entered the U.S. Army and served two years during the Korean Conflict. On June 20, 1954, he married Marilyn Hanson at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa. They lived in the Otranto and St. Ansgar area where he owned Wilder Construction. He retired due to poor health. He was a member of the Lyle American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cheryl (Mrs. Mike) Cherney of Adams and Diane (Mrs. John) Jahr of St. Ansgar; two sons, Steven and Gary both of St. Ansgar; his mother, Elmira Wilder, of St. Ansgar; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Jeanie (Mrs. Butch) Neuman and Joan (Mrs. Steve) Braun, both of St. Ansgar, and two brothers, Roger and Donald, both of St. Ansgar. He was preceded in death by two brothers, and three grandchildren.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements.

DOYLE WILDER

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Doyle Wilder, 69, died Friday (Oct. 15, 1999) at Riverside Chautauqua, Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Faith Lutheran Church in London, Minn., with the Rev. Einer Unseth officiating. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minn.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, and will resume one hour before services at the church Monday.

Doyle was born on Oct. 10, 1930, in Osage, the son of Andrew J. and Elmira (Smith) Wilder. Doyle attended school in Otranto.

He worked in the area as a carpenter. He entered into the U.S. Army and served two years during the Korean Conflict.

He married Marilyn Hanson on June 20, 1954, at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. They lived in the Otranto and St. Ansgar area where he owned Wilder Construction. Due to health concerns, he retired.

Doyle was a member of the Lyle American Legion.

He is survived by his mother, Elmira Wilder, St. Ansgar; his wife, Marilyn, St. Ansgar; two daughters, Cheryl Cherney and her husband, Mike, Adams, Minn., and Diane Jahr and her husband, John, St. Ansgar; two sons, Steven Wilder and his wife, Mary, St. Ansgar, and Gary Wilder, St. Ansgar; two sisters, Jeanie Neuman and her husband, Butch, St. Ansgar, and Joan Braun and her husband, Steve, St. Ansgar; two brothers, Roger Wilder and his wife, Barb, St. Ansgar, and Donald Wilder and his wife, Mary, St. Ansgar; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Doyle was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jackson Wilder; two brothers, Laurel Wilder and Marlin Wilder; and three grandchildren, Aaron Bradstreet, Matthew Bradstreet, Melissa Jahr.
