Halvorson

Hans Halvorson was born at Hedalen, Norway, July 7, 1855. He came to America in the spring of 1873.

During the first years of his sojourn in this country, he worked on the farms in different places of this community. In 1883 he bought land in Cedar Township, Mitchell county, where he built himself a home and continued to live until the time of this death.

The departed brother was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Norway and when coming to this community joined the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, of which he has been a member until the time of his death.

The following are the only near relatives surviving: one brother, Halvor Halvorson, and two sisters, Bertha Ask and Mrs. C.N. Odden.

Mr Halvorson had been in poor health for several years, but has not been confined to his bed until about a week ago when a stroke of apoplexy made him unconsious and entirely helpless.

He died October 7, 1931.

Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran church October 9, at 2 p.m. and interment was made in the Rock Creek cemetery.
