Funeral services for Ralph C. Sonberg, age 76, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died on June 30, 1983, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held on July 2, 1983, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Toeterville, Iowa, with the Rev. Charles Bunk officiating.
Ralph Clifton Sonberg was born in rural St. Ansgar on August 12, 1906, the son of Herman A. and Alice Louisa (Rowland) Sonberg. He grew up on the family farm in St. Ansgar, attended the Wardell country school and high school in St. Ansgar and Osage, Iowa.
He married Vera Tesch on July 12, 1926, and the couple moved unto the family farm. The Sonbergs retired from farming and moved to St. Ansgar in 1967.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, in 1927. He remained active in this church, serving on the church council at various times. [truncated]
