Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Urbatsch, 68, who died at her home in Grafton, Worth county, Iowa, on May 30, 1983 were held on June 2, at St. John's Lutheran church, Rock township, Mitchell county, with Rev. Richard Zellmer officiating.
Dorothy (Pahl) Urbatsch was born on April 25, 1915 in Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa, the second child of Edward and Louisa (Walk) Pahl, She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran church, Rock township, on May 30 1915, and confirmed there on March 24, 1929.
She married Raymond Urbatsch on January 22, 1939. They made their home on a farm in the Grafton area until she moved to Grafton in 1973. She retired this spring from employment at the Grafton Middle School where she had been employed the past six years. She was active in church activities and taught Sunday school for many years. She was currently vice president of the ALCW, secretary of the Grafton Community Action organization and was an active member of the Minerva Study Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents and two brothers.
Mrs. Urbatsch is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Darrel (Joann) Nichols of Grafton; by two sons, Donald of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Lowell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; by six grandchildren, and one sister, Alice Pahl of Grafton.
Burial was in St. John's cemetery with Rev. Zellmer in charge of committal services.
