Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Charles A. (Mary) Thacher, 78, a former resident of St. Ansgar; who died February 9, 1983 in Buckley, Washington.
Memorial services were held at the Community Presbyterian church in Buckley on February 12.
Mary E. Thacher was born July 21, 1904 near Darlington, Wisconsin.
She married Charles A. Thacher in 1930 and who children were forn to them. The family moved to St. Ansgar in 1936 where the Thatchers purchased the St. Ansgar Enterprise and published it until 1951. They moved to Okanogan, Wash. that year; and to Buckley, in 1981. They were active in the United Methodist church while in St. Ansgar.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, David of Shelton, Wash.; daughter, Suzanne Kennedy of Buckley; and by two brothers, Howard and Cyril Teasdale of Darlington, Wisconsin.
The body was cremated.
