CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Esther Schwab, 86, of Charles City, Iowa, and formerly of Mitchell county, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

A funeral Mass for Esther Schwab was held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries, pastor, celebratd the Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Esther Frances Pint Schwab was born August 15, 1919 in Mitchell County, the daughter of William and Bessie (Mullen) Pint. She received her education from the Osage and Floyd schools.

On April 28, 1936, she was united in marriage to Patrick Schwab at Osage. They lived in the Osage, Floyd and Charles City areas all of their lives. During her working career Esther was employed at Gibbons Apparel, Stewart Shoe Store and Prichards Apparel. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rosary Society, St. Jude Circle and Heritage Club.

Living family members include two sons: James and his wife Dorothy Schwab of Cedar Falls and Gary and his wife Martha Schwab of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert and his wife Norma Pint; a sister-in-law, Velma Pint; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Leo and Harold Pint; and a sister, Viola Poe Self.
