Funeral services for Phyllis I. Bethke, 69, of Osage, Iowa, were held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, in Osage, with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating.

Interment was in the Osage Cemetery.

Phyllis died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Phyllis was born July 24, 1936 to Wilhelm "George" and Vera (Buttolph) Wendorff. She had two step-sisters, Helen and Virginia, and a step-brother, Dale. Phyllis was joined in marriage to Marvin E. Bethke Sr. on February 15, 1953 in Osage. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Osage.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her Mother, Vera, in 1974 and Father, Wilhelm "George," in 1976.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Marvin Sr. of Osage; eight children, LeRoy of Osage, David (Jennifer) of Northampton, Pennsylvania, Carl (Mary) of Osage, Darlene (Allyn) Sheldon of Osage, Barbara Cornwell of Mable, Minnesota, DeWayne of Devonia, Marvin Jr. (Mary) of Osage, Kenneth (Debra) of Stewartville, Minnesota; and by 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of the arrangements.
