Mrs. Kennes Huntley
Funeral Held At
St. Peter Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Kennes Huntley, 79, of Toeterville, who died October 10, were held October 13 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville with the Rev. Charles Bunk officiating.

Leona Minnie Huntley was born September 27, 1904, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Krahn) Brandt. She was baptized in St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, October 16, 1904. She spent her childhood on the family farm a mile north and one and a half miles east of Toeterville. Mrs. Huntley attended grammar school at Union school Nol. 1 in Union township. She was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran church March 24, 1918.

She married Kennes F. Huntley on January 2, 1924. After a brief stay near Nashua, Iowa, the Huntley's established their home a mile east of where Mrs. Huntley grew up. During the depression the family left the farm and they both sought employment in various places in this region (Wayland, Washington, and Plainfield, Iowa, and Austin, Minn.) They returned to Mitchell county and lived at various places until they moved to the farm where Mrs. Huntley lived as a child, in 1946. She moved to Toeterville in 1976.

Mrs. Huntley was preceded in death by an infant son, Howard, and her brother, Orville. She is survived by her husband, Kennes; by two sons: Wayne of Emmons, Minnesota, and Ken of Mankato, Minnesota; also by seven grandchildren and one niece.

Burial was in St. Peter Lutheran cemetery, Toeterville, with Rev. Bunk in charge of the committal services.
