St. Ansgar, Iowa -- Services for Diana R. Brower, 63, of St. Ansgar, were held at St. Ansgar United Methodist Church on Monday, April 24, 2006 with Rev. Jay Amundson officiating. Burial was in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.

Diana won her battle with cancer Thursday, April 20 when she died peacefully at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. Despite a long and difficult battle, Diana never allowed it to touch her spirit, leaving the disease with nothing left to attack but her earthly body. Her faith was never compromised, and she victoriously crossed the threshold to go home to be with her Lord.

Diana was born July 6, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska; to Dr. Raymond and Mae Rembolt. She grew up in Iowa City and graduated from City High School in 1960. She attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 1964 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Two days after they graduated from college, Diana married Frank Brower in Iowa City. After spending some time in Minneapolis and Dubuque, Frank and Diana moved to St. Ansgar in 1971 to open a drugstore and build a life.

Diana spent many years and touched many lives while working as an Occupational Therapist for the Area Education Agency, and for many schools and nursing homes in the northern Iowa and southern Minnesota area.

Diana lived for her grandchildren, and enjoyed God's handiwork all around her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by countless individuals whose lives she touched.

Diana was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Raymond Rembolt.

Diana is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank; one daughter, Jennifer (Matt) McNutt of Apple Valley, Minn.; one son, Andy (Diane) Brower of Savage, Minn.; two brothers, David (Charlotte) Rembolt of Des Moines and Richard (Penny) Rembolt of Iowa City; her mother, Mae Rembolt of Iowa City; and grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Emma, Sam and Ben.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements. (641-713-4920.
