A Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen Theresa Fox, age 83, of Mason City, was held Monday, April 3, 2006, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven with Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating.
Burial was at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven, Iowa. Eileen died Wednesday March 29, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.
Eileen was born December 2, 1922 at New Haven, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Marie (Carroll) Fox. She attended St. Mary's Academy in New Haven and graduated from Osage High School in 1940 with a normal training certificate. She taught for 7 years in the rural schools of Mitchell County. Eileen moved to Des Moines to teach in the public school system and during that time she earned her B.A. Degree and her Masters Degree in Education at Drake University. She retired after teaching for 32 years. Eileen was a cancer survivor since 1963.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Marie Fox and a brother Peter Fox.
She is survived by a sister Charlotte Pitzen of Stacyville, and nephews Gary, Joe, Don, David and his wife Verla and their sons, Mike and Bill.
