Memorial service for Marvin Edward Arp 65, formerly of Plymouth, was held Monday March 27, 2006, at the Plymouth United Methodist Church, with Reverend Wendy Johannesen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel was in charge of the cremation. Marvin died March 23, 2006, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.

Marvin Edward Arp was born September 24, 1940, in Osage the son of Edward and Hazel (Frank) Arp. He, his father and uncles farmed on the Arp Brothers Farm in the Little Cedar area. Marvin was united in marriage to Jeanne Navratil in 1963; to this union two children were born.

He is survived by his children, Angie (Tony) Furbush, of Rockwell, John (Michelle) Arp, Mason City; grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, McKenna, and Cole; great-grandchild Jaris Benjamin; two brothers and two sisters, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hazel Arp, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Dean "Buck" Rowson, and two brothers.

MASON CITY — Marvin Edward Arp, 65, formerly of Plymouth, died Thursday (March 23, 2006) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Plymouth United Methodist Church with the Reverend Wendy Johannesen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel was in charge of the cremation.

Marvin loved farming, his John Deere tractors, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, playing cards (indicating and talking under the table), pets, raising his family, and the outdoor barbecues.

His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed for his soft and generous heart, sparkling blue eyes, and mischievous grin.
