Andrew Christianson Dies
After Illness
Lasting Six Weeks.Death came Tuesday to Andrew Christianson, pioneer resident of Cedar Township, after an illness lasting six weeks.
Andrew Christiansen was born at Ringerike, Norway, Sept. 29, 1842. He spent his childhood and youth in his native home. In 1869 he married Johanna Peterson of his native place.
Immediately after their marriage they emigrated to America and located in Rock township, Mitchell county. During the first year of his life in this community he worked on the farm in different places. Later he bought land in Cedar township, on which he built his home and lived until the time of his death.
In his wedlock seven children were born. Of these children the following survive: Ole Christian, Edward, John and Theodore all of this community; and Mrs. Victor Julien of Brownsdale, Minn. His wife preceded him in death March 7, 1915.
Since coming to this community Mr. Christianson had always been an active member of the Rock Creek Lutheran church. He had been an exceptionally strong, healthy and industrious man, enjoying good health until he was taken ill about six weeks ago. Since that time he has been confined to his bed.
During the last few years of his life he made his home with his son Theodore. The cause of his death, together with old age, was influenza. He died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1931.
Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. O. C. Myhre, from the Rock Creek Lutheran church, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. and interment made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.
