Funeral services for Agnes Catherine Kleckner, age 89, of Osage, were held Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was at St Peter's Catholic Cemetery at New Haven.

Agnes died Monday March 13, 2006, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Agnes was born October 28, 1916, to James and Emma (Aurenger) Dargan in Riceville. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1935. On June 15, 1937, she married Adrian E. Kleckner at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville, making their home in Osage. Agnes was a homemaker and was also involved with her husband's business, known as Kleckner Excavating and later known as Kleckner and Hartwig Excavating and Tiling. She also worked part time at local businesses in Osage.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Guild, Women's Bowling League, and also worked many years on the Election Board, which she always looked forward to. Raising a large family she always had challenges for her children when they came home from school, such as a word of the day, spelling and meaning, and looking up subjects in the encyclopedia. Agnes was a great cook and had a tremendous sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian, her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Agnes is survived by her children, Mary A. Thomas of Loveland, Colo., Patricia A. Humphrey of Le Roy, Minn., Adrian E. Kleckner of Des Moines, Jane E. Dahley of Wellington, Colo., Timothy J. Kleckner (Kay) of Algona, Thomas M. Kleckner of Johnston, Colo., Jody K. Benzel (Bob) of Fort Collins, Colo., Brian A. Kleckner (Scheryl) of Newton, and Tracy S. Kleckner (Terri) of Osage; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister Rosemary Kinter of Des Moines; a brother Paul Dargan of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at St Peter’s Catholic Cemetery at New Haven.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

She is survived by her children, Mary A. Thomas of Loveland, Colo., Patricia A. Humphrey of LeRoy, Minn., Adrian E. Kleckner of Des Moines, Jane E. Dahley of Wellington, Colo., Timothy J. Kleckner (Kay) of Algona, Thomas M. Kleckner of Johnston, Colo., Jody K. Benzel (Bob) of Fort Collins, Colo., Brian A. Kleckner (Scheryl) of Newton and Tracy S.
