BENEDICT.
The body of Mrs. E. Benedict, an old resident of Mitchell county, who passed away at the home of her son, A. E. Benedict, of Minneapolis, Thursday, February 17, was brought to Osage for interment last Saturday, and laid to rest in the Osage cemetery.
Mrs. Benedict was born in Penfield, N.Y. March 14, 1817, and was united in marriage to Edson Benedict,February 14, 1839. They moved to Coldwater, Branch county, Mich.,the following summer where they made their home for 17 years. In 1855 they came to Osage, where they had their part in the pioneer life of that date.
Her companion passed to the other world some 20 years ago. Of her four children, two died in early childhood. One, Mrs. Daniel Whitaker, died some 16 years ago. A. E. Benedict, her son and other relatives are left to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Benedict was the third charter member of the Congregational church of this city, and was a devout and consistent member.
The funeral services were held at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. E. A. Larson, Saturday afternoon, her pastor, Rev. B. C. Preston, officiating.
