KOSCHMEDER, CHRISTIANA AND HEINRICH

Heinrich Koschme(i)der was born on October 21, 1834 in Germany. In 1866, he married Christiana Weiss in Germany. Christina, daughter of Gotleb Weiss, was born on December 29, 1845 in Germany.

Christina and Heinrich were the parents of six children.

August was born on January 8, 1967 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. He came to the United States alone in 1886 and settled near West Mitchell, Mitchell County, Iowa. August later influenced the rest of his family to join him. He never married. August passed away on December 19, 1943 in Douglas Township, Mitchell County, Iowa and is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa.

Herman Henry was born on November 27, 1869 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. He married Bertha Elisa Wilhelmina Zarling on September 27, 1895 in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. Herman passed away on May 6, 1952 in Osage, Iowa and is buried at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Anna P. was born on October 12, 1871 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. She married Carl W. Hartwig on August 2, 1891. Anna passed away on November 15, 1950 in Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa and is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Henry John was born on August 11, 1882 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. He married Louise Marie Darius in 1914. Henry passed away on November 27, 1943 in Douglas Township, Mitchell County, Iowa and is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mitchell, Iowa.

William John was born on January 6, 1885 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. He married Louise M. Darius Koschmeder (widow of his brother Henry) on February 20, 1958 in Osage, Iowa. William passed away on October 26, 1969 in Osage and is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa.

Emma A. C. was born on March 3, 1887 in Grapschen Kreis Breslau, Prussia. She married Carol Neumann on November 11, 1912 at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, Worth County, Iowa. Emma passed away on October 14, 1977 at Stewartville, Olmsted County, Minnesota and is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa.

The Koschmeder family followed August to the United States. They last resided in Peiskerwitz, Prussia and boarded the Slavonia in Swinemunde, Germany. One piece of baggage was all the family had. They arrived at the Port of New York on June 22, 1888 and were allowed to come ashore June 25, 1888. They joined August near West Mitchell and settled on Section 17, Mitchell Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Christina passed away on July 11, 1912 in West Mitchell and Heinrich passed away on December 4, 1912 in West Mitchell. Both are buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Mitchell County, Iowa.
