KRONES, KATHRINA AND HILLARY FAMILY
Hilarius Henry Krones was born on November 11, 1846 in Germany. He immigrated to the United States with his mother, Katherine, and two brothers, Nicolaus and Mathias. They landed at the port of Philadelphia on April 20, 1873 and settled in Chicago, Illinois.
"Hillary" married Katherina Schmidt about 1875 in Chicago. Katherina was born on October 10, 1854 in Chicago, Illinois. Katherina and Hillary were the parents of nine children.
Katie was born in 1877 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away about 1881 in Chicago, Illinois.
Anna was born on March 23, 1878 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Henry Severson on August 1, 1895 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. Anna passed away on April 24, 1951 in Osage, Iowa and is buried at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
Mary Agnes was born on October 16, 1879 in Chicago, Illinois. "Mayme" married William J. Sanborn. They were divorced and in 1909 she married Dennis C. Morrissey at Rose Creek, Minnesota. Mayme passed away on March 31, 1974 in Powers Lake. Burke County, North Dakota and is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lignite, Burke County, North Dakota.
Clara Martha was born on June 4, 1883 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. She married Michael S. Michaels on October 12, 1910 at St. Peter's Church, New Haven, Iowa. Clara passed away on September 8, 1967 in Stacyville, Mitchell County, Iowa and is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Iowa.
Susan Hilda was born on March 23, 1885 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. She married Frank Nichols about 1905. "Susie" passed away on March 13, 1979 in Vancouver, Washington and is buried at the Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver, Washington.
Henry was born about 1888 at New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. He passed away of diptheria before 1895 in New Haveen. Henry was buried in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven by his father. There was no funeral and burial was done at night to prevent panic and spread of disease.
John Matthew was born on October 6, 1890 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. He married Alice Elizabeth Herron on November 23, 1910 in New Hampton, Iowa. John passed away on February 22, 1984 in Osage, Iowa and is buried at the Osage Cemetery, Osage.
Joseph Jacob was born on October 2, 1893 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. He married Evalyn Viola Frank on August 18, 1917 at Orchard, Mitchell County, Iowa. Joseph now resides at the Maple Manor in Osage, Iowa.
Elizabeth Maria was born on May 21, 1895 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa. She never married. "Lizzie" passed awway on October 26, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois and is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Iowa.
The Krones family resided at 156 Orchard Street in Chicago, Illinois until the migrated to New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa in 1882 as a number of their friends had done. Hillary farmed, owned and operated the first pool hall in New Haven before the turn of the centruy. He also had a livery stable and boarders stayed next door where the family lived. This was across from St. Peter's Church.
Katherina passed away on October 14, 1897 at home in New Haven. She suffered from a ruptured appendix. Katherina is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Iowa.
The older girls helped HIllary with the younger children. In 1928 Hillary moved to Osage and lived with his daughter Clara Michels.
Hillary passed away at his daughter Clara's home in Osage on September 27, 1936 and is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Haven, Iowa.
