William Henry Marr was born October 1, 1875 and Anna Jane Cashman was born March 24, 1897. Both were born in Howard County, Iowa.

William H. was the son of William, Sr. who was born in Germany about 1840 and died in 1899 in Howard Co. William Sr's brother, Andrew, was born in 1843 while the family was crossing the Atlantic.

William H. Marr's mother was Rosaly Yager Marr, born in Austria May 2, 1839 and came to America as a young lady, after becoming a skiing champion. She died February 4, 1909 in Howard County, Iowa. William and Rosaly were married in Yellowstone, Lafayette Co., Wisconsin. William and Rosaly are buried in St. Peters Cemetery, New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Anna Cashman was the daughter of Thomas Cashman, who was born on the boat coming to the United States from Ireland, and Johanna O'Connor Cashman, born in Dubuque County.

William and Anna Jane were married at St. Cecelia Catholic Church southeast of Elma on October 16, 1901. They farmed southeast of Riceville, Iowa in Howard County for a few years. They moved to Sumner, Bremer County, Iowa where Will operated a butcher shop with his brother-in-law, Edd Cashman. Their next move was to Mitchell County. Their farm was one half mile south of New Haven. They resided on this farm until their deaths. Anna died December 19, 1949. William H. died November 24, 1958. They are buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven.

Will and Anna were the parents of eight children. Josephie died at the age of two weeks. The other children were: Vincent, Urban, Gertrude, Mary, Francis, Grace, and Luella.

Vincent was born in Howard County January 11, 1904. He married Peggy McGee of Elma (Born September 2, 1904). Their children include Connie Mountain, Nancy Meuller, and Kay Oberhoffer. Vincent died September 10, 1983.

Urban was born in Bremer County February 16, 1906. (See Urban Marr Story).

Gertrude was born March 5, 1910 in Mitchell County and married Paul Meirick. (See Paul Meirick story)

Mary was born September 24, 1913 in Mitchell County. She married Vincent Miller. (See Miller story)

Francis was born December 3, 1914 in Mitchell County and married Catherine Theis of New Haven. Their children are David, Kenny, Phil, Debbie, Ann Jeanine (died November 30, 1959], Tim, and Pat. Francis died January 27, 1971. Catherine married George Conorady of Sheboygon in 1981.

Grace was born December 14, 1916 in Mitchell County. She married Lloyd Fox of Osage. They are the parents of Janice Offerman (Janice's first husband, Bob Valder died April 5, 1981) and Bill Fox. Lloyd died September 10, 1979.

Luella was born March 2, 1919 and married James Dunlay. They are the parents of Ronald, Kathy Klemm and John.
