Anton C. Groth, who is engaged in truck gardening at St. Ansgar, where he is conducting a substantial business, was born July 9, 1878, near St. Ansgar, his parents being Assor H. and Kirsti Groth. He attended the common schools and supplemented his early educational opportunities by four years study in the St. Ansgar Seminary, from which he was graduated on the completion of the normal course on the n11th of June, 1897. He was thus well qualified for life's practical and responsible duties and then entered upon his business career.

He is now devoting his attention to truck gardening and in this work is very efficient. His task is most systematically and methodically done and he has made a close study of the best varieties of garden produce to be raised according to soil and climatic conditions here. He has just reason to be proud of the size and excellence of his products, for which he finds a ready sale on the market.

On the 17th of February, 1904, Mr. Groth was united in marriage to Miss Ida B. Gunderson, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gunderson. To this union have been born three children, Conrad A., Albin J. B. and Norris S.

Mr. Groth belongs to the Lutheran church and is interested in all that has to do with the progress and upbuilding of the community in which he has spent his entire life. He stands for advancement and improvement in public affairs and is interested in the development of his section of the state.
