Returned Veteran of Years of Service to Be Store Engineer

Charles F. Enneberg of St Ansgar, who has been honorably discharged after 4½ years of service overseas in the African-Tunisian and Italian campaigns, has joined the staff of the Iowa Retail Hardware association, 115½ First S. E., as store engineer, according to Philip R. Jacobson, secretary.

Mr. Enneberg goes into training again, starting at the National association in Indianapolis and finishing his training with store planning departments of the Minnesota and Wisconsin associations. He will be on active store management duty about Nov. 15.

Mr. Ennebere has 10 years of retail hardware store experience, nine with the late J. F. Bernstein of St. Ansgar and one with Currie-Van Ness company of Mason City.

Born at St. Ansgar, Mr. Enneberg received his education there and started his hardware store experience.

On Feb. 10, 1941 he left Mason City with the national guard and was a member of headquarters company, 133rd infantry 34th division.

Thirty-eight months overseas, Mr. Enneberg modestly admits having the Legion of Merit and four battle participation stars. Since returning to the states he has been with the Army War College, Washington, D.C.

I. K. Erickson, who was with the Iowa Retail Hardware association before he left for service, wrote from Okinawa, "With my 32 points, it looks like I am a candidate for the last man's club. Do not have much hope of returning for probably a year or more."

When he does return, however there will be an association merchandising service ready for him to take over, according to Mr. Jacobson. In service Mr. Erickson has taken an army correspondence course in accounting and during the time he has been in service more than 400 members have installed the Association Daily Record and Statement ledger system.
