I find online that Marlin Christopher Young, son of William Christopher Young and Saletha Jay, married Jane Wilson on 14 January 1872 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, but I do not find an image of the marriage book from that time and place. That is what will provide your corroboration, as it should include the names of the bride's parents and exact location of the marriage, as well as the witnesses. However, I've found that the info in the marriage records for the 1870's in Iowa are spotty. Good luck!
