Services Held for Wm. McKinney Wednesday
“Pioneer Resident of Henderson Dies in Mercy Hospital”

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 pm in the Mansfield Funeral home for William McKinney, conducted by the Rev. Lester C. Hall of the Methodist church.

Music was furnished by Mrs. F. R. Chantry accompanied by Mrs. J. E. Ellison at the piano. Pall bearers were Andrew Anthony, Thomas McKinney, Leslie McKinney, Eric Edlund, Emil Leu and Ray Herring. Interment was in East Liberty cemetery.

William McKinney son of Andrew and Margaret McKinney, was born in Ringgold county, Mo. Nov. 12,, 1867. He was married to Ida Bell Rainey March 9, 1892 at Lincoln, Neb. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Chester of Henderson, Willard of Elliott, Clell of Red Oak and Mrs. Walter Pentow of Malvern.

Mr. McKinney was baptized in the Christian church when a young man and lived a Christian life until the end. He passed away at the Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs Sept. 10 at the age of 77 years, nine months and 29 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four children, five grandchildren and three brothers, Leslie and James of Platsmouth, Neb., and Thomas of Omaha; three daughters-in-law and one son-in-law, also a host of relatives and friends. His father and mother, one brother and four sisters preceded him in death.

He was a kind and loving husband and father. His kindly, genial way and cheery good nature greatly endeared him to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was a resident of the vicinity of Henderson for the past 38 years.
