The sad news reached here Sunday of the sudden death of Mrs. Grace Parker Emerick at her home in Bancroft, Nebr. Saturday January 12. The remains were brought in Monday evening and taken to the home of her father Jas B. Parker north of town and the funeral was held from there Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. M.R. Talley of the Hastings M.E. church. The internment took place at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Grace Darling Parker was born in Wyandot County, Ohio Sept. 22, 1868 and moved to Iowa with her parents in 1882. She was married March 4, 1887 to F.A. Emerick and moved to Cuming County, Nebr. where they have since resided. (Actual marriage date was March 15, 1887.)

She leaves a husband and ten children to mourn her untimely end. They accompanied her home for the last sad rites. Her father and mother, nine brothers and two sisters survive her and all but one sister, Mrs. Plumb, were here to attend her funeral. She was a good wife and a kind and loving mother and will be sorely missed by the family and friends she leaves.
