The Malvern Leader
June 2, 1892
David Emerick, one of the early settlers of Mills County, died at his home in Ingraham Township about noon Sunday from a general breaking down of the constitution. He lived in the county something like forty years and all that time on the farm where he died. When he came to the county it was almost untouched by civilization, yet he lived to see it dotted all over with fine farms and beautiful homes. The body was taken to Wilber, Neb., Monday, for internment beside members of the family who had preceded him to the great beyond. (Burial was in the Waymire Cemetery, Saline County, Nebraska, next to his wife and two daughters.)
