Funeral Services Sunday For Dale LaVern Kizzier

Dale LaVern Kizzier, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kizzier of Glenwood was born August 7, 1927.

He attended the public schools for two years before contracting infantile paralysis after which he was compelled to remain at home.

In spite of his physical handicap, Dale LaVern made the most of his life.

His last illness was of short duration. All was accomplished for him that love and skill combined had to offer; but he passed away on October 1, at the age of 15 years, 1 month, and 24 days.

The immediate relatives left to mourn his passing are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kizzier; two sisters, Mrs. Max Evans, Glenwood; Darlene Kizzier, Indian Hills, Colo., a brother, Lyle at home, as well as his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kizzier of Pacific Junction; Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Alexander, of Indian Hills, Colo., and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the James Chapel conducted by Rev. H.G. Parker of the Glenwood Methodist Church. Music for the service was furnished by Patricia Boyer and Shirley Heckman, they having been school friends of Dale LaVern, as were also the flower girls Betty Doan, Betty Radford and Barbara Evans. Those who served as pallbearers were Guy Haney, Roy, Alfred, Clifford, Lester and Floyd Kizzier. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
