Services Wednesday for Emerson Resident

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church in Emerson for Edward Birdsall, 78, who died very suddenly of a heart attack at 11 a.m. Monday. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Griggsby and burial was made in the Emerson cemetery.

Mr. Birdsall came to Emerson from his boyhood home in Illinois in 1891 and in 1897 he was married to Mrs. Mary Rowley of Emerson. He was an extensive landowner, being the possessor of a large farm adjoining the town of Emerson. He continued in active charge of the farm until recent years, since which time he had given over the management to others.

He is survived by his widow, a son, E.R. Birdsall and two daughters, Mrs. Louise E. Whisler and Mrs. Avis Taylor, all of Emerson, a brother, Horace Birdsall of Clearmont, S.D., and a sister, Mrs. F.J. Wallace of Glenwood.
