Mary Jane Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Collins was born in Holt County, Missouri, 26 Dec 1844.

She spent all of her life in and around Mound City MO. She married a Christian Minister, Rev. Lambert at the age of 22 and to this union were born three children: Mrs. Geo. Wilson of San Bernardino CA, C. C. Stebens of Sioux City, IA. Jimmie Lambert died in infancy.

Some years after the death of Mr. Lambert, the deceased was again united in marriage 7 Aug 1873 to F. M. Scott. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Julia Shelby, deceased, George W. Scott of Glenwood, IA, Mrs. A. L. Conner of Omaha, NE, J. W. Scott of Sioux City, IA.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott moved from Missouri to the Glenwood vicinity in 1878, where they continued to live out their married life. After the death
of Mr. Scott about four years ago, she was making her home with her children. At the time of her death she was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Conner of Omaha, NE. Though the children had noticed mother was failing physically still the death came rather unexpectedly as she passed away in her sleep.

She died Monday morning, 23 Feb 1925 aged 80 years 1 month and 27 days. Besides the family roll that has been mentioned, she leaves two brothers, Michael and John Collins of Alberta, Canada, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of neighbors and friends who can pass testimony upon the goodness of the passing life.

Always of a happy joking disposition, you could leave the home with a smile on the face. She united with the church when young in years, but in the language of the Apostle, she was a contender for the faith once delivered to the Saints.

Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church by the Rev. D. S. Thompson Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Music was furnished by the quartet comprised of J. H. Morgan, Mrs. Ed Marshall, Mrs. Orla Altekruse and T. W. White. Mae Linville, pianist. The pallbearers were W. H. Krecklow, Harold Krecklow, Guy Mayberry, Paul Sniffin, Hill Anthony and Frank McDole. The remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband on the family lot in the Glenwood cemetery.
