Steven Michael Lynes, 19, of Provo, Utah and formerly of Glenwood died March 21, 2005. Funeral services were held Mach 26 at Glenwood Community High School before internment at Glenwood Cemetery.

Steven, the oldest of five children of Julie Lynn (Jankiewicz) Lynes and George Michael Lynes, was born in Rexburg, Idaho on Jan. 20, 1986. After Steven’s parents finished school at BYE-Idaho they moved to Glenwood, Iowa.

Steven was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Glenwood. He was an athlete who enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and football while a student and Glenwood Community High School where he was a member of the national honor society. He was attending Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship and was a member of the Freshman Honor Society. He loved music, the outdoors and was a member of Glenwood Boys Scout Troop 229.

Steven was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby Jack Lynes and cousin Stephanie Lynes. He is survived by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Andrew, Jacob, Darci and Emily, all of Glenwood; grandmother Shirley Lynes of Aiken, S.C.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives and friends.

Hertz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
