He was united in marriage with Mrs. Cathrine Ferrell of Pacific Junction March 28, 1904. The family lived in various places in Mills County where Mr. Bare followed the vocation of farming. Six children were born to this union, five of whom are living, namely: Ransford Bare, Council Bluffs; Melvin Bare of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Hazel Hatcher of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Marcella Canuso, Omaha; and Mrs. Leora Clark of Council Bluffs. One grandchild, Jackie Bare of Council Bluffs and one sister, Mrs. Alma Sloman, of Council Bluffs and a brother of Lincoln also survive.
Mr. Bare had been in failing health for the past six years. His last illness was one of short duration. He was taken to the Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs and passed away Friday morning, Oct. 23, at the age of 70 years, five months and 28 days. He united with the Presbyterian Church in early manhood and adhered to that faith during his life.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. H.G. Parker of the Glenwood Methodist Church. Music was furnished by Gerald Baker and Dorothy June Scott accompanied by Mrs. Dorsey Roll at the piano. Misses Mary Thirza Mumea had charge of the floral offerings. Those who served as pallbearers were Joe Wilcox, Henry Pein, A.H. Mumen, Roy Salder, Wm. DeMoss and O.V. Byers.
