MRS. ABBIE BELLWOOD DIED AT HOME IN OMAHA LAST FRIDAY. ILL SEVERAL WEEKS FOLLOWING OPERATION. FUNERAL HERE SUNDAY

Mrs. Abbie S Bellwood, former well known Malvern resident, died at the home of her son, Albert, in Omaha early Friday morning after an illness of several weeks, following an operation.

She was brought to Malvern and funeral services were held in the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Paul Bleks (sic), a former friend and pastor.

Vernon Bobbitt sang a solo, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and Mrs. F. R. Chantry and Mrs. L.A. Tallbett sang, "The Old Rugged Cross." There was a profusion of beautiful flowers testifying to the love and appreciation of relatives and friends. The flowers were in charge of Mrs. E.W. Knight, Mrs. W.D. McCaustand (sic), Mrs. Harley Stevenson, and Mrs. R.W. Mansfield. Burial was in the Malvern cemetery. The pall bearers were R.L. Hale, W.D. Metausland, R.W. Salyers, E.W. Knight, Clifford Boyer, R.W. Salyrs, and Mr. Palmor.

Abbie S Criswell was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on December 24, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Criswell. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1873, landing (not legible) on the old home place south of Strahan, which continued to be her home until her marriage, January 29, 1890, to B.F. Bellwood, who preceded her in death a number of years ago.

To them were born two children, Albert and Mrs. Ruth Mitchell, now of Omaha.

They moved to Malvern about 25 years ago which continued to be her home until after the death of her husband. Since then she has made her home with her children in Omaha, although frequently visiting in Malvern where she had many friends.

She was a member of the Methodist church and fashioned her life after its teachings.

She knew her time was near and some time before her death made all the plans for her funeral service.
