Mrs. Vincent, the wife of the former editor of the Nonconformist, who was so badly injured by the taking fire of her dress from the falling of a lighted lamp, on the night of the 19th of October, died at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday last, aged 62 years.
Her sufferings were very great. She expressed a wish not to be buried in any graveyard until her husband should join her in spirit life, then to be buried together, so her remains were interred temporarily on the family grounds, where the husband can see and visit her grave, and keep her resting place ever in
sight.
It is a sad affliction for him which he can hardly seem to bear, for who can do for him what such an affectionate wife as his last one has done? His grief is inconsolable.
The funeral ceremonies were conducted by Mrs. Hattie Hull, of Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday, the 10th inst., the thirty-fourth wedding day of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent. the kindness of friends all through the painful illness has been most admirable and consoling
The aged couple have lived in Tabor and in the house where Mrs. V. died for thirty-two years. They came to Iowa in the early days, and in crossing the state have several times traveled a whole day and a good share of another without seeing a human face or sign of human habitation. Thus, the old settlers are one by one passing away.
Mrs, Vincent is a sister of B.O Sheldon, of Anderson township, Mills County.
