SERVICES HELD FOR RAY WEATHERHEAD - - Funeral services for Raymond F. Weatherhead were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church in Tabor, conducted by Rev. Peter Jacobs of Shenandoah and assisted by Rev. D.S. Jay of the Tabor Congregational church and H.P. Anderson of Glenwood who conducted the Masonic service.

Raymond Freeman Weatherhead, son of John and Charlottee Goode Weatherhead, was born Dec. 29, 1872 on the old home farm one half mile west of Tabor. He obtained his education in Tabor high school and later attended Tabor college. He was a brick mason and building contractor, until recent years when heart trouble forced him to retire. As a citizen he helped promote the financial and business interests of the community. He was president of the old Tabor State bank, a director and stockholder of the Tabor and Northern railroad, and a stockholder in the first telephone to come to Tabor. For 30 years he was a partner with A.S. Bloedel in the Furniture and Hardware Co.

Early in life he joined the Baptist church in Tabor and for the past 40 years had been a member of Volunteer Lodge No. 582 A.F. and A.M.

On Wednesday evening, Nov. 20, when he failed to return home for the evening meal from his farm 2 1/2 miles west of Tabor where he had gone to set some traps, a searching party of approximately 50 townsmen was organized and began a thorough hunt, finding the body beside one of his traps in a ravine, where he had evidently suffered a heart attack.

He is survived by one brother, Frank of Council Bluffs, and three sisters, Miss Anna Weatherhead, Mrs. Sarah Bloedel of Tabor ad Mrs. Hattie Goodfellow of Merriman, Nebr.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Hattie Goodfellow of Merriman, Nebr.; Mrs. Royal McGaughey of Eli, Nebr.; Tom Goode of Plankinton, S.Dak.; Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Goodfellow of Sheridan, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Underwood of McClelland; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Graves of Omaha; Mrs. Ida Graves of Glenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Fay Weatherhead; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Aistrope; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Aistrope and Miss Marilyn Aistrope of Hamburg; Mrs. Darrel Shields of Bedford; Raymond Bloedel of Malvern; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Forney of Thurman; and Mrs. Eva Haten of Sidney.
