Ephriam Burchard, an old time resident of Glenwood, died in Omaha last Saturday aged 55 years and was brought to Glenwood for interment Monday morning. The body came in on No. 4 and was taken to the cemetery where the burial took place. Mr. Burchard was an old time citizen of this locality and is especially remembered as the marshal of Glenwood during the excitement incident to the lynching of the Long brothers, which ghastly occurrence took place north of the city some twenty-five years ago.
