Samuel E. Rickabaugh died at the home of his son in Anderson township, Sunday, March 8. He was born December 6, 1839, hence at the time of his death was 68 years, 3 months and 2 days old. He was married to Susan E. Osborn, in 1873. Eight children were born to them, only four of whom survive, a daughter, Mrs. J.M. Adams of Council Bluffs; a son, Worth, of Ralston, Okla., another son, Claude, and daughter, Kitty, of Silver City.
The deceased was an old soldier, having served during the Civil War as a memberr of Co H. Fortieth Iowa Volunteer, and later a member of G.A.R. post No. 15 of Glenwood.
The funeral was held the 10th from the home of his son Claude, conducted by Rev. Tally of Hastings, and interment was made in the Wesley Chapel cemetery in Anderson township.
