Mrs. Fred H. Priest sang two beautiful solos very effectively. Beautiful flowers in great profusion testified to the loving remembrance of relatives and friends.
Burial was in Hastings Cemetery by the side of the husband who preceded her a few years ago after they spent fifty years of wedded life together.
Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clint Genung of Bassett, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Raney of Villisca, Mr. and Mrs. Sewing and Gretchen of Mineola, Wilmont Bowen and family of Red Oak, Nr. and Mrs. George Mason and daughter Betty, of Casper, Wyoming, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Peoria, Illinois, Mrs. Lela Mason and son Walter Van. of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. Lynn Mason of Red Oak, Iowa.
The following Obituary was given:
Ida Amanda Mason was born Clayville, New York, and passed away at her home in Hastings March 20, 1933, at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 4 days.
She was the daughter of George Law Mason and Amanda Mason.
When a girl of fifteen she united with the Presbyterian Church of Clayville, New York.
In April, 1872 she united in marriage with Lyon K. Mason, leaving that same day for Hastings, Iowa which been their home.
Their home has ever been one of hospitality. Whether in the home in Hastings or the summer home in Okoboji, it was always open to family, relatives, and friends.
Five children blessed their union, two sons and three daughters.
In 1877 a Congregational Church was organized in Hastings of which she was an active member.
Her husband precded her in death, April 9, 1927. Those who mourn her loss are one son, George L. of Casper, Wyoming, three daughters, Ruth L. Genung, of Bassett, Nebraska, Ina L. Sewing of Mineola, and Helen Bowman of Red Oak, and 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her home life was ideal and the love and devotion she gave so lavishly to husband, children, and grandchildren was returned in no less degree. During her long illness her daughters gave her every care and attention that loving hearts and hands could devise, and while her passing will leave a void in their lives nothing can fill, they have no regrets which will be a great comfort.
