Ina Louise Mason, daughter of the late Ida and Lynn Mason, was born in Hastings, Iowa on February 3, 1884 and departed this life June 21, 1935 at Okoboji, Iowa at the age of 51 years, 4 months, and 18 days. All her life was spent in Mills County, 11 years in teaching in the Mills County schools.
On October 28, 1914, she was united in marriage to John Sewing and to this union one daughter was born.
Mrs. Sewing was a devoted mother and wife, always putting others before herself. She was so patient during her last illness, which lasted for a period of three years. She was a member of the Silver City Methodist Church. and the Silver City chapter of the Order of theEastern Star.
She will be greatly missed by those surviving, her husband, John; her daughter, Gretchen, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Genung of Bassett, Nebraska, and Mrs. Helen Bowman of Red Oak, Iowa; one brother, George Mason of Casper, Wyoming, and also many neighbors and friends.
Brief funeral services were held conducted Monday afternoon at the home in Mineola by Rev. O. C. Bierman, pastor of the Mineola Lutheran Church, following which services were held at the Methodist Church in Silver City, conducted by Rev. M. A. Gable of Indianola, assisted by Rev. G. G. Barnes of Hamburg, both of whom were family friends.
Those acting as pall bearers were John Dovenspike, Wm. Burgoin, G. A. Spellbring, Earl Babbitt, Albert Miller, and Dan Markel. Mary Henderson, Doris Hettinger, and Marjorie Rickebaugh were flower girls.
The body was taken to Hastings, Iowa, where interment was made in the family loy in the Hastings Cemetery.
