The funeral of Harmon Evans who died at Wakefield, Neb., was held in Emerson Tuesday conducted by Rev. R. E. Shaw of Glenwood. He formerly resided in Emerson. His son John Evans resides here, also his nephew Marion Evans.

He was born at Alma, Illinois, Oct 15, 1837, and came to Mills county in 1874, living on a farm near here till a few years ago. The funeral was at the Methodist church with Masonic Service. Burial in Emerson Cemetery.

DEATH OF HARMON EVANS
The sad news reached here the first of the week of the death of Harmon Evans at Wakefield, Nebraska, Sunday, November 6. The remains were brought here Monday evening and the funeral conducted by Rev. R. E. Shaw of Glenwood was held in the Methodist Church, Tuesday afternoon, services at the grave by local Masonic order. Funeral was largely attended.

Harmon Evans was born October 15, 1837, at Alma, Illinois and died November 6, 1904 at Wakefield, Nebraska. He lived a number of years near Monmouth, Illinois and came to Mills County in 1873 where he lived until a few years ago when he went to live with his son, W. W. Evans at Wakefield, Nebraska. Two sons and two daughters survived him. Mr. Evans had a host of friends here who mourn his loss and extend sympathy to the sorrowing family.
