Andrew P. Boswell.
Mr. Andrew P. Boswell a well known citizen of Emerson died at his home there Sunday. Mr. Boswell had been ailing with bright's disease of the kidneys for which he had recently taken treatment at Excelsior Springs, Mo., returning a few weeks ago. Later a carbuncle broke out upon the back of his neck and so weakened his system as to be the immediate cause of his death.

Mr. Boswell was a kindly and genial man. He was one of the best known members of the Masonic order in Mills county and attended as a delegate the last session of the grand lodge. He held the office of W. M. at the time of his death, that order taking charge of the funeral at Emerson Monday. He was a member of Humanity lodge No. 378 A- F. and A. M. and also of the order of the Eastern Star.

Andrew P. Boswell was born December 6, 1840, in Hillsborough, Washington county, Pa. He was married to Hester A. Yeagley, of Lagoda, Ind., February 27, 1877. She died in Emerson about three years ago. He served three years in the army, being a member of the Indiana Cavalry. In 1876 he moved to Iowa, locating on a farm near Haney station soutn of Pacific Junction. In the spring of 1882 he moved to Henderson. About 1890 he took up his residence at Emerson which has been his home since.

His sister Mrs. Maggie Gwathmey formerly of Glenwood has been keeping house for him since his wife's death. Another sister also made her home with him. He had no children.

Three brothers and three sisters survive him.
Marion Evans has been spending the past week at Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mrs W L Tubbs has been visiting her old home at Piano, Illinois. She was accompanied by her little son. John Boswell, senior and John Boswell Jr., the latter a former hardware merchant at Henderson was called to Emerson by the death of the former's brother.
