D.B. Goodrich Obituary - - D.B. Goodrich was born near Florence, Oneida County, N.Y., May 15th, 1833. Died at Malvern, Iowa, Jan. 23rd, 1907. Aged 73 years, 8 months and 8 days.

When about fifteen years of age Mr. Goodrich came west with older brothers and located in LaSalle county, Ill, near Seneca. While resident at this place he enlisted in the army in Aug. 1862 and served until the end of the war, mostly in Co. C 88 Ill volunteer infantry. (Board of Trade Regiment.)

In the spring of 1875 he moved from Illinois to Mills Co. Iowa where he has since resided. In October 1878 he was married to Miss Mary J. Kilpatrick whose death occurred in Sept. 1894. To this union twin children were born, Rolla who died in infancy and Ralph who survives his father and was present to minister to him in his last brief illness.

At the age of 23 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and united with the Congregational church in Seneca, Ill. When he came to Mills county he identified himself with the Christian work in his home community. He was for a number of years a member of the Randolph Presbyterian church. Upon coming to Malvern he transferred his membership to this church.

He has a sister, Eunice Mullaney, living near Seneca LaSalle County, Illinois.
