January 30, 1890

Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Newman, was born in Keyapha County, Nebraska, September 14, 1886, died at Malvern, January 4, 1890, of diphtheria.

Freddie B., son of Mr. and Mrs. Newman, was born at West Point, Nebraska, September 27, 1884,and died at Malvern, January 9, l890, of diphtheria.

Death is always a saddening visitor, but when he comes and within so brief a time tears away two members of the home circle, his visits fall with crushing weight.

Dear parents, do not weep,
For Freddie and Walter have gone,
Their little eyes are closed in sleep
To wake on that bright morn.

You loved your little ones,
Their memory you will bless,
Though Jesus took them in His arms,
Close to His loving breast.

Parents, I know you feel their loss,
O, grief is hard to bear,
But place your trust in Jesus,
He will your burdens share,

But, parents, do not weep,
For dear ones gone to rest, [home]
God loved them and has called them
To that home above so blest.
