MALVERN LEADER.. January 15, 1885

Mrs. Rhoda Richardson died at the home of her son, Z.A. Richardson of Center Township, January 5, 1885, aged 74 years, 1 month and 20 days. She was born near Rochester, New York in the year 1810 and removed to Virginia with her parents when a child.

Here, at the age of 20 years she was married to a Mr. Kimberlain, and soon became a widow. She next moved to Missouri where she became the wife of Azor Richardson and moved with him to this county, settling in Coonville, now called Glenwood, in 1852.

She resided there until 1872, when she was removed to her late home, and in 1877 again was left a widow. Since that time she had lived most of the time with her son, Z.A. Richardson and part of the time with her daughter, Mrs. G.W. Brooks.

She became a member of the M.E. church when quite young and remained steadfast in her faith of a bright hereafter until her death. Although her life was full of sorrows and disappointments, she was the last of a family of twelve children. She suffered untold pain until near the last, but died in peace, wafted home with angel music, which was heard by five people in the room. She opened her eyes and tried to smile upon them with her last breath. P--cannot describe the feelings of those who heard the angels song, to have it proclaimed that a mother was safely in heaven.
