THE MALVERN LEADER. MAY 21, 1942

LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. FRANK HALL
Services at Tabor for Former Malvern Resident

Mrs. Frank Hall, who has spent most of her life in Tabor, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 13. Exactly 32 years ago and on the same day of the month, her mother died. She was held in the highest regard by all who knew her. A graduate of the Tabor high school and having spent two years at old Tabor college she had a large host of friends who admired her for her cheerful, optimistic spirit. Ill for several years she always maintained such a hopeful spirit and was so patient.

Mary Lucinda Rickabaugh, better known to her intimate friends as "Mame" was the daughter of Dudley Porter and Alice Rickabaugh. She was born in Malvern May 15, 1885 and was 57 the day of her services. She was one of a family of five children, two brothers, Arthur of Eugene ,Ore., and Lewis, who passed away last August; and two sisters, Mabel, now Mrs. Herman Goy of Malvern, and Ruth, now Mrs. Paul Goode of Council Bluffs. She came to Tabor when a girl and was active in the social and religious life of the community all through her years until taken ill. She was united with the Congregational church Sunday, April 1, 1900 at the age of 15. She was a regular attendant at Sunday school and church and shared with the young people in their Endeavor activities. Her father died 31 years ago. She was a member of the Woman's Union and of the 20th Century club, one of the oldest organizations of Tabor.

October 14, 1909, she and Frank Hall, a young man from one of the prominent families of the city, were united in marriage. Two children were born to them, Clair, now Mrs. Richard Stivers of Malvern, and Norman, who is engaged in defense work at Wichita, Kan. There is one grandchild, Jeffery Lee Stivers.

Services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Bloedel Funeral Home. A large group of neighbors and friends assembled to pay their tribute of respect for one who had won such a large place in their regard. Mrs. L. J. Weatherhead and Mrs. C.R. Brown sang two number, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "It is Well With My Soul". Miss Blanch Dalton was accompanist. The flower attenders were Mrs. Harry Schroeder, Mrs. Mabel Smith, Mrs. Noah Mumper, Mrs. Abbie Tarpening , Mrs. Ted Hall, and Miss Margaret Crawford. The casket bearers were L.M. Perkins, Alva Bell, J.H. Stivers of Council Bluffs, Walter Harrison, Walter Savage and Glen Weatherhead. The services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Peter Jacobs of the Congregational church.

Mrs. Hall was a most devoted mother. Her daughter was able to be home often and her son was here to spend a week of vacation. Mrs. Hall took a deep interest in her grandson. Everyone who knew Mrs. Hall was impressed with her buoyant spirit. Her kindly, friendly, cheerful disposition was an inspiration. She will be missed most keenly by her companion of 32 years.

Interment in the family burial plot in the Tabor cemetery.
