Malvern Leader- April 30. 1942

SERVICES HELD FOR C.E. RICKABAUGH
PEACEFUL FARMER PASSED AWAY LAST WEDNESDAY

Services were held Friday afternoon at the Mansfield funeral Home for C.E. Rickabaugh, 65, who passed away at his home in Peaceful last Wednesday afternoon after a lingering illness.
Rev. G.W. South was in charge of the services and the pall bearers were E.I. Hasselquist, Louis Mitchell, Joe Donner, Wayne Hodges, Wm. Waller and Ralph Adams. Music was furnished by Mrs. L.A. Talbott and Mrs. F.R. Chantry, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. C.R. Yates. Mrs. E.I. Hasselquist and Mrs. Joe Donner were in charge of the floral offerings.
The following obituary was read:
Charles Ernest Rickabaugh, son of Lewis and Martha Rickabaugh, was born Dec. 17, 1876 at Malvern, Ia., and passed away April 22, 1942 at his home south of town. He was one of a large family, four brothers and four sisters, he being the last of the family.
He spent his entire life in Iowa except two years which were spent in Wyoming.
On March 12, 1912 he was united in marriage to Florence Hawkins Boles of New Castle, Wyo. In 1914 they moved back to Malvern and since have made this their home.
Mr. Rickabaugh was a a good neighbor and one who was highly esteemed and ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Florence Rickabaugh, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
