OBITUARY;

Lewis - Harriet Holston was born at Keys Creek, (Botetourt County,) Virginia Dec. 10,1810. At the early age of eleven years, she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and never afterward faltered in the Christian faith.

She was married to Daniel Lewis in the year 1831, near Indianapolis, Indiana. She and her husband removed (first Illinois and then) to the then territory of Iowa and located near Burlington. Living there until 1850, when on the 2nd day of August of the same year, She with her husband and other members of her family settled upon the old home (in Mills County) where she resided until her death.

Her aged husband and five sons are yet living, seven children having preceded the mother to the glory world.

Two weeks ago last Tuesday afternoon while engaged in her usual work, she was stricken with paralysis. She never regained consciousness and was wholly unable to converse with family or friends. she was surrounded all the time during her sickness by some member of her own family - one son scarcely leaving her bedside during the entire time of her sickness. Everything was done
for her that loving hands could do to keep her here with her family, but it was decreed otherwise and early on the morning of January
14, 1891, her spirit returned to the God who gave it.

During her entire brief illness she never murmured nor complained, at all times seeming perfectly resigned, happy and contented.
During her last moments she was embraced in a sweet and refreshing sleep and on the morning of her death the music of angels in heaven was sweeter and more enchanting than ever before, because mother was there.
